According to writer and adventurer, Jack London, “You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club” … And, if your club’s big enough you get The Storey.

The Storey is inspired. It’s where art and industry spark. It’s a central, creative environment for the 21st century, led by a team who work in and understand today’s creative industries.

In an increasingly competitive world, our weapons of choice are design and architecture, knowledge and technology, creativity and common sense...

And a very big club.

About

It’s a new chapter in the same old Storey. Central to Lancaster’s artistic, technical and scientific innovation for 130 years the Storey Institute has been remodelled as a purpose-designed centre for the creative industries, ensuring the building retains its prominent position while fulfilling the expectations of the 21st century creative industry.

The Storey is where art and industry spark. Two of the North West’s principal arts organisations are already planning to move into the building and we expect to reach full occupancy very quickly.

The Storey is a not for profit organisation set in the heart of Lancaster’s conservation area. Opposite Lancaster Castle, famed for its part in the notorious Pendle witch trials, and close to the historic Priory, on a clear day The Storey features views of the whole of Morecambe Bay, from Blackpool to Barrow, via the Lakes.

The Storey Garden is a relaxing environment for residents to recharge their creative batteries and chill, the only thing to disturb them will be the birdsong and squirrels. The garden will also be a venue for outdoor catering, concerts and other special events.
