“LAKE LIGHT” an exhibition of Lake District Photographs
by Dave Butcher
For anyone with a love of the Lake District or photography there is a new exhibition in Lancaster. From Friday 1st July through to Wednesday 10th August 2011, an internationally acclaimed photographer is staging a special exhibition at the Storey Creative Industries Centre.
Dave Butcher has been visiting the Lake District for many years. His breathtaking black and white landscape images have gone on to gain admiration and fans all over the world. This exhibition gives him an opportunity to share his photographs with everyone with a similar love of one of England’s most beautiful national parks.
The exhibition is called Lake Light – a reference to the fact that the photographs have been taken in differing lights throughout the year to show much-loved landmarks in frequently new and fascinating ways. Taken from a book of the same name, the images give a pictorial tour of the Lakes. Visitors can look forward to a mixture of dramatic vistas from the highest tops as well as the more familiar lower valley views, waterfalls, lakes, woodlands and much more, but all in glorious black and white!
Locations include Eskdale, Wasdale, Buttermere, Borrowdale, Keswick, Ullswater, the Langdales and much more such as the mountains of Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, Striding Edge in winter and Skiddaw; waterfalls such as Scales Force, Stanley Ghyll Force, with Rydal Water amongst many other lakes.
Lake Light is supported by leading, UK based, photo-imaging company, HARMAN technology Limited
Showing at The Storey:
