Eastern Motifs in Lancaster

Starts: Thursday 18th Feb

Ends:  Thursday 11th March

The young Russian artist Maria Golubeva has always been fascinated by the mysterious world of Islamic art, architecture and calligraphy. Inspired by the art of Asia and the Middle East, she has created gher works by the simple means of scissors and black paper. Her intricate paper cut designs framed into ultra modern LED boxes, make this art a perfect combination of ancient tradition and modern technology.

The following exhibition is aiming to demonstrate the filigree texture of paper cutting to public, as well as to introduce the beauty and intricate design of Islamic inspired art to a wider audience. Come join us and meet the artist at the opening Reception on Thursday, February 18, starting at 6 pm.
